Family Chow 10/14/13 – Plus Hoisin Burgers Recipe

Hoisin Burger

Today for breakfast the girls had bacon, eggs, persimmons and prunes. Lunch was leftover bbq shredded beef for all of us. For dinner, I decided to change burgers as we know them. I combined my homemade hoisin with grass-fed ground beef for the patties. I then topped them with more hoisin, green apple slices and pickled ginger and WOW, they were really good. You’ll need to double the batch of hoisin sauce so that you’ll have more to drizzle on top of the burgers. I suggest you try these right away, you will not be sorry!

Hoisin Burgers

1.5 lbs grass-fed ground beef
1.5 lbs pork breakfast sausage
1/2 cup homemade hoisin

Sliced green apple
Homemade hoisin
Pickled ginger strips

Combine burger ingredients in a bowl and then form into patties. I made 8 good size burgers. Grill over medium-high flame for about 6-7 minutes per side. Mine were thick so they took 8 minutes per side. Place toppings on and devour!
